MALA owner Lauren Wise first opened her boutique in 2011, aiming to curate a collection of contemporary brands for stylish women and kids.
The name MALA reflects the shop’s cool, contemporary style; for Lauren, MALA epitomized the approach to fashion she was looking to champion in her boutique.
“My clients want stylish pieces that they can wear throughout their active, busy lifestyles. I look for clothes that women and their kids can toss on in the morning. They should feel chic when they’re running out the door,” says Lauren. “It’s that sense of effortlessness that really makes my MALA regulars shine.”

Lauren is passionate about styling busy women juggling multiple commitments, and her success can be attributed to her palpable excitement for her work. A successful businesswoman with years of experience in various facets of the fashion industry, Lauren launched MALA Boutique in 2011 and Go-tique in 2014 and then subsequently sold the fashion truck to another budding mom-prenneur in Greenwich Connecticut in 2016. In 2018, Lauren launched MALA Boutique's e-commerce site, www.malaboutique.com, and provides shipping throughout Canada and the USA.
Ever the entrepreneur, she also developed and managed Shop the Block, a stay-local retail discount program. Lauren is also a devoted mother to three children who are bound to love fashion as much as she does!
